My name is Andrew Kirkpatrick, I'm a software developer in the employ of the University of Adelaide in South Australia.
My principal programming language is Perl, but in the course of a day I usually write some BASH code, and sometimes Python or even Java. I'd like to learn Common LISP, Scheme, Ocaml and maybe Ruby. I hate PHP above all.
On 19 June 2006 my partner had a son who we named Flynn. He's a very happy, healthy boy. Suddenly I'm understanding all sorts of things that only really dawn on you when you have someone so utterly dependent on you. Being a dad is amazing.
